Thanks giving celebration!!

In the thanks giving day we celebrated by doing a tree with many colorful leaves that have a message for a: friend, family member and a teacher. The reflexion that i learned in thanks giving day is that we need to acept new people in our live and continue being happy and to have fun in the school!!!!


Also we make a picture that represents this day, i choosed a turkey because in all the countrys that celebrate the day, eat a big turkey.

Lucia's presentation!!!

I choosed this presentation because; was for me very good because i like the eastern topic and i think that is good for kids. She explained so good the topic and she was exited explaining the festival. Her actitude was interesting for me, always was good the information but a recomendation is to do bigger the letter of the poster so we can read it better.

Oktoverfest or beer festival!!

The beer festival or the Oktoberfest was established by Beerex ® Company in 1977. This festival is celebrated between September and October.

The beer festival is in Munich, Germany, the beer is one of the most important and favorite drink of the German people.

The festival consist in have many places that offer many different types of beers like: red, black, yellow, different levels of alcohol and the beer make in home.

Also this festival change all the years the special country guest.

This festival have many activities to do like for example: Dancing, people that tell the beer story, music bands, typical food and all the equipment to do the beer like: machines, lab equipment, containers and coloring for beers.

Bogota's theater festival...

AQUI!!!!!  The theater festival is one of the most important festivals that have Bogota city. This festival was established by one of the best actress: Fanny Mickey, this woman wasn’t Colombian but she felt like one. She is very important for the city because she helped poor people and established “the Castellana Theater”.

The festival consist on a different them every year, this festival was established on 1988 and is between Mars and April. All the years the festival has a special country guest has theater of the street and other country performances.

The festival change by the prepared the topic by the important things that happened like: Fanny Mickey’s dead in 2010, by the environmental problems and by the things really important for the theater like: William Shakespeare and Backstage.

PROJECT!!

This year we are doing our six projects with miss. Gomezcaceres and is to create our own school. In this blog I am going to tell you how I and my group created our school IN CLASS!!!!

V.O.P bilingual school

 

First, we chose the name of our school : V becaouse a member of the group call Valentina, O  because a member of the group call Oriana and P because i call Maria Paula. The propuse of this school is based on an ecological education; it is only high school and is located on Curacao Island. Many of our students are rich people that live in the island or in near islands like Aruba. Most of our subjects are relate to the survival on the island like: Diving and Taking coconuts from the palms.

LOCATION..

Second, we decided where will be located, the weather conditions and the lenguage: is located in the south of the Caribbean Sea. Is part of the Sotavento Island, Aruba and Bonaire .

The weather is so hot, has about 140 to 749 people in 2008. The capital of the Island Curaçao is Willemstad. The principal language there is the Papiamento, some others are: English and Spanish.

Rules...

Next, we chose the rules and values that we wanted that the student follow. In school we have rules of the values, academic and disciplinary aspects very strict, that all the students will respect and do.

RULES:

1.           Take care of the environment.

2.         Don’t escape from the school.

3.         Don’t hurt or bull others.

4.         Don’t smoke in the school.

5.         Be honest with everybody.

6.         Be solidary with everybody.

7.         Follow the instructions.

8.         Wear well the uniform.

9.         The minimum to past is 60%.

10.This school has the values of liberty and respect.

11. you lose the year with 4 areas.

12. you can lose the year with 3 big fouls.

                                                                                                    

Subjects

After that, we chose the subjects that we will teach and what is about. Our school we have the same schedule for all because we have many teachers and the same subject. Is calendar B and we having only 1 location near to the beach.

Subjects:

1.           Coconut class: Is a class where kids will learn how to take and climb palms to have coconuts.

2.         Diving: Is a class where kids will learn how to interact with the nature in the ocean.

3.         Typical cooking: Is a class where kids will learn how to cook the most common food in the island.

4.         Computers game: Is a class where kids will learn how to play games that will tech they to take care of the environment.

5.         French: Is a class where kids will learn another language.

6.         Arts: Is a class where kids will learn to paint, dance and sing many things relate to the environment.

7.         Driving boats and planes class: Is a class where kids will learn how to drive the most common transportation of the island.

Mision,Vision and Profiles

Seven, we decide with the subjects and schedule and the other information the mision, vision and the profiles of our peolple. The mision and vision of the school are based on the values: ecology and respect.

Mission:  this school was created for teach the students different things like: to survive on an island, to know to drive a boat, plane and the most important to take care of our planet with activities like diving.                                         

Vision:  this school expects that on 2025 be the 1^st school of different education and to have more students’ interest on the ecological education. Always to make people think about our environmental situation on the island.

Our profiles are:

Teachers: In our school we want an specific type of teachers. We wannt to speak French, Inglish and Spanish, We want to be of the best university and to be younger that 30 years and native of Curacao. 

Employers: In our school we want that the employers be: honest, carefull and very respectfull with the community. Also that they be native of Curacao. 

Students: In our school we want to have: respectfull students, responsable of their jobs and that have respect for the nature and enviroment.

Services and Administrative stuff..

Eight, we decide with the mission and vision of our school the services that we will give: This are made thinking about all the likes of our students, parents and teachers:

Transportation: The transportation that we use is the boats or submarines. Our transportation includes a bus that take all the students to our submarine stop, then the submarine take all the students to the under- ocean enter of the school. The transportation is for all the V.O.P community.

Store: our store has many natural and fries things with a good price.

Lunch: Our lunch is typical food of the island and is many natural things like: rice, fish, etc.

Our administrative stuff:

Our principal is Valora Aromafo a good principlal that respect and love kids, Also we have a board of directors that decide the important things of the school, Is formed by: students, parents and ecologist. The prices of the school are:

LUNCH: $ 150.00

TRANSPORTATION: $500.00

MONTHLY PAYMENT: $ 20.000.00

WILLY'S FOOD: $20.00 each

On this school we recibe Dolars and Pesos.

Our pet..

Then, we selevt our pet: Our pet is a whale that we adopted on 2000 and we named Willy because the movie.

Uniforms.

After that, 0ur uniforms are inspired on the sea and nature. Our colors are:

Blue: Because the ocean and the sky.

Green: Because the nature of the island .

Brown: Because the exelent coconuts of the island.

White: Because the peace that we want to teach.

Symbol..

Eleven, 0ur school's symbol have the same color of the uniforms and is inspired on the cococnuts that I love so much.

Twelve, 0ur flag have the same colors of the uniforms and is inspired on the Curacao island's structure.

Conclusion!!

Finaly, I want to say thanks to Miss. Gomezcaceres for give us the oportunity to work on this fun proyect.
